The 91Eight is a lifestyle brand created to blend style & fashion with the Tulsa, Oklahoma community while giving back to the city. The 91Eight works with local artists to design and produce their merchandise.
Concept
The 91Eight is all about Tulsa, so we chose to take advantage of the brilliant colors in the iconic Tulsa flag.
The logo for The 91Eight has a distinctive hand-drawn look as a nod to the collaborating artists who use various media to produce their art. The red circle and star seen in the flag replace the dot above the “I” to further tie in the flag. You’ll notice the “E” can be interpreted as an 8, with the 918 being the area code for Tulsa – hence the name.
Responsive Logos
In order for the brand to look cohesive through any application, we came up with
some variations of the logo – The Primary, Secondary and Icon Logos
Primary
This is the meat and potatoes, what it’s all about. This logo can be used for any official documents, website, and merch.
Secondary
This looks similar, with the only change being the removal of “the.” This simplified version of the logo is more versatile in horizontal applications. This logo can be used for the website and merch as well.
Icon
As simple as it gets. This icon logo is perfect for small applications such as social media profile pictures, patches for clothing, sizing stage, or even as stand-alone artwork for merch.
Brand Patterns
Along with the responsive logos, we collaborated with the client to produce brand patterns for The 91Eight. These patterns are useful, seamless textures to provide further brand cohesiveness. These patterns are used on merchandise.
Merchandise
Once we had the branding locked down, we began work to bring the project to life by providing examples of what their brand would look like to their audience.
To achieve the brand cohesiveness we were looking for, we took advantage of design elements found in the lag and elements of the city.
